Shelby Hofer is an actress, writer, producer, and comedian. She is the Co-director of Atlanta’s award winning PushPush Arts, where she champions artists with distinctive opportunities to take risks, explore new ideas and collaborate. She has appeared on many many screens and stages locally, nationally, and internationally over the last 20+ years. Several years ago she began writing and performing her work at literary events. She is a four-time champion at Write Club Atlanta and donates her winning proceeds to nonprofits, including one of her passions, Heartwood Agile Learning Center, a self-directed learning center that she helped found in 2016. In 2015 she began performing stand up comedy. In addition to hundreds of performances on stage and screen, she has performed in Atlanta’s favorite comedy clubs including The Punchline and Laughing Skull Lounge, as well as at venues from Phoenix to New York. She is now touring an original production, High Risk, Baby!, that she devised over the last 3 years about the child within the mother, a comedy about solving her infertility problem. The production was originally developed with support from Idea Capital and the National Endowment for the Arts, and it chronicles her wayward attempts to liberate her inner child while she was trying to have an actual child. She grew up in College Park, GA and now lives in Decatur with her husband and partner, Tim Habeger, and her greatest production to date, young Maximilian.
